Therapeutic Transformative Law
Therapeutic transformative law approaches legal conflict from a holistic perspective, addressing the emotional, financial, spiritual aspects of the entire situation as well the inherent legal implications. Conflict is addressed as a unique opportunity for personal growth and transformation.
Therapeutic law recognizes that interpersonal conflicts do not arise overnight or in a vacuum. By merely addressing the immediate legal implications of an interpersonal conflict, the history of how the situation arose and the future implications for recreation of the conflict are completely overlooked. Ignoring these aspects increases the likelihood that, sooner or later, the client will find himself, once again, in the same situation he currently finds unacceptable.
Therapeutic law also recognizes that, given guidance and focused desire, we are able to fashion our lives to reflect our deepest beliefs, highest goals and truest selves. Therapeutic law is a joint endeavor, between attorney and client, designed to facilitate this personal growth process. Through professional legal guidance and reflective interaction we are able to identify the long-term goals, beliefs and values with the client and to develop personal solutions.
Incorporating a holistic perspective allows the attorney and the client to find long-term solutions that allow the client to create, or recreate a life that is more in tune with his or her vision, values and beliefs.
